Environmental Liability Directive - briefing note now available
The Environmental Liability Directive came into force in the UK on 1 March 2009 and requires operators to prevent and repair significant environmental damage caused by their activities.
The new regulations reinforce the 'polluter pays' principal, ensuring cleanup costs are not borne by the taxpayer but by the operator.
For more information, read our new Environmental Liability Directive briefing note which outlines how operators will be affected and how to avoid non-compliance, or contact us.
