Enviros wins F Gas Support project extension with Lacors
Enviros was first commissioned bythe Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to set up a project team called F Gas Support for the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS) in January 2008. Year one of the project ran until March 2009 and Enviros has recently won an extension to run year two until March 2010.
The project team, directed by Ray Gluckman and managed by Jo Gradwell, aims to help organisations understand their obligations under the EC Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases (F gas) and Ozone Regulations.
The EC F gas Regulation is intended to reduce emissions of certain fluorinated gases with a large global warming potential, whilst the EC Ozone Regulation sets controls on ozone depleting substances (ODS). Both carry important implications for operators of stationary refrigeration and air conditioning systems, fire protection equipment, gas insulated high voltage switchgear and other specialist F gas users, such as foam blowers and aerosol manufacturers.
