Are you affected?
The CRC is a new mandatory emissions trading scheme that aims to deliver energy and carbon savings in large, non energy intensive organisations. The free Enviros breakfast seminar aims to help clients understand if, and how, they will be affected, including the steps organisations need to take in order to prepare for the CRC.
Organisations that meet the qualification criteria, which are based on how much electricity they consumed in 2008, will be obliged to participate in CRC. Based on current proposals, all organisations with total annual electricity use through half-hourly meters (HHM) in GB and 70kVA systems in NI in excess of 6,000MWh could be captured by the scheme. This is equivalent to organisations with an annual electricity bill of about £500,000.
The types of organisation being targeted include supermarkets, hotel chains, large offices and small industrial facilities in the private sector, plus local authorities (including state-funded schools within a local authority portfolio in GB), all central government departments, hospitals and universities.
