Enviros presents at Energy from Waste: Advanced Thermal Technologies
Event: Energy from Waste: Advanced Thermal Technologies
Date: Thursday 18 June 2009
Venue: Lancaster Environment Centre, UK
Energy from Waste: Advanced Thermal Technologies is a one day event, organised by the Environment Group and Process Engineering Group of the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), in conjunction with Lancaster Environment Centre. The event will consider the advanced thermal technologies which are rapidly developing for the conversion of waste material to energy, including gasification, plasma gasification and pyrolysis.
Steve Horrax, Enviros Climate Change Commercial Manager, will be presenting on Defra's New Technologies Demonstrator Programme, an Enviros project carried out on behalf of Defra.
Defra established the New Technologies Demonstrator Programme (NTDP) in 2006 to create pilot plants that would demonstrate new waste treatment technologies and allow the economic, social and environmental viability of each selected technology to be assessed. Enviros was commissioned for this project to enable key stakeholders within local authorities and the waste industry to experience new waste technologies first hand as they became operational.
