Enviros publish paper on EU Carbon Trading

Enviros have published a report entitled 'EU Carbon Trading - Looking for shifts in UK fuel markets'. The document provides a short overview of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and looks at key areas of interest for the biomass sector arising from carbon trading.

The report concludes 'The EU ETS will change the absolute and relative prices of all fuels. Biomass, in particular, may enjoy new opportunities as a cost-effective fuel for power generation (e.g. co-firing) and as a replacement for fossil fuels in industrial processes (e.g. cement kilns)'.
